Here is a real story from a student the HC Foundation helped through its scholarship program:

"I am a high school senior...when I was in 9th grade I was placed in a drug rehabilitation center.  After graduating from rehab I became pregnant with my now three year old daughter.  For a while I thought I wasn't going to college, but instead I would have to get a job and take care of my daughter.  After researching different careers and meeting with advisors at HCC I have decided to pursue becoming a dental hygienist.  I feel confident and ready to go to college."
